DRB Hicom has confirmed that they will not selling Lotus and suspension of Lotus chief, Dany Bahar. Reported by star-motoring decision o f keeping Lotus is that Lotus is able to provide value to Proton according to DRB Hicom chairman Dato Seri Khamil Jamil. Lotus is an iconic brand with global presence and also have engineering expertise in automotive.
Proton is actually only gain advantage from Lotus engineering who help to design their car and engine but not so much in term of overall operation. Introduction of new models is necessary but it requires huge bucks and long return of investment period due to Lotus makes only supercar while the market is shrinking.
